Sunday, Monday 14-15 April 2024

Sunday afternoon we fished right out from Ballast Island in slightly stained water with a 21 mph SW wind. We caught most of the fish ranging from 80 to 100 foot of line out. We trolled with the waves ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 mph. All colors of bandits were productive. The barometric pressure was steady at 29.69. We fished in water depth ranging from 34 to 39 foot. We had a couple doubles with fish ranging from 20 to 26 inches. Monday the water was stained near Rattle Snake and Green Island with the wind going down to 14 mph from the NE. The most productive setting was 70-90 foot of line out. We trolled from 1.1 to 2.3 mph. The water depths ranged from 30 to 43 foot. The barometric pressure was 29.91. The big fish for the day was 27 inches. All colors of bandits worked well.

16 April 2024- Air Temp 46 deg and Water Temp 48.8 deg

Tuesday 16 April 2024

We fished near North Bass and the border in slightly stained water with a 13 mph E NE wind. In the afternoon we moved out by the cans and caught fish ranging from 80 to 110 foot of line out. We trolled with the waves ranging from 1.3 to 2.3 mph. The most productive colors of bandits were blue chrome, reflection, and popcycle. We fished in 34 foot of water by North Bass and 30 to 32 foot of water near B and C can. We had some doubles and a triple again today with fish ranging from 20 to 27 1/2 inches.

17 April 2024- Air Temp 56 deg and Water Temp 49.3 deg

Wednesday 17 April 2024

We fished near B Can all day in slightly stained water with a 14 mph S wind with a little bit of rain. We caught fish ranging from 70 to 90 foot of line out. We trolled with the waves ranging from 1 to 2 mph. All colors of bandits were productive especially reflection. We fished in water depth ranging from 30 to 31 foot. fish ranged from 18 to 26 inches. The barometric pressure started at a high of 29.83.

Friday, 19 April 2024- Air Temp 47 deg and Water Temp 51.7 deg

We fished near North and Middle Bass in slightly stained water with a 18 mph NW wind. We caught fish ranging from 80 to 120 foot of line out with most at 110. We trolled with the waves ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 mph. Electric Zebra, Sunspot, and Blue Chrome bandits were productive. We fished in water depth ranging from 26 to 43 foot. fish ranged from 18 to 25 inches. The barometric pressure started at 29.87.

Lake Erie, 21-27 April 2024

21, 22 April 2024- Air Temp 44 deg and Water Temp 50.6 deg

Monday 22 April 2024

We fished North of Little Pickerel Reef in slightly stained water with a 7 mph W NW wind. We caught fish ranging from 60 to 120 foot of line out with most fish caught between 80 at 110 foot. We trolled with the waves ranging from 1 to 2 mph. Electric Zebra, Sunspot, and Blue Chrome bandits were productive lures again today. We fished in water depth ranging from 29 to 31 foot. fish ranged from 19 to 26 inches. The barometric pressure was at 30.14.

Tuesday, Wednesday

23, 24 April 2024- Air Temp 45-52 deg and Water Temp 51-52 deg

Tuesday and Wednesday were very windy at 20+ MPH winds from the Southwest switching to the Northwest. We fished in front of the winery and near Middle Bass and Ballast Island in slightly stained water. We caught way more tangles than we did fish. We tried all different depths and speeds with no consistency. We fished in water depth ranging from 27 to 42 foot. All smaller fish from 19 to 20 1/2 inches. The barometric pressure was around 30.00.
