Lake Erie Fishing 2015
The 1st day fishing on Lake Erie in April 2015 was one of the best fishing days of the year. We stayed in cabins 2, 3, 4, and Admiral Perry Inn. Almost everyone got a Limit of nice fish and even threw back plenty of extras. The hot lures were clown and white husky jerks along with purple, red, and pink reef runners. The next five days were very windy and cold with very minimal fishing time. On the 6th day the wind finally went down around noon and stained most of the water around the islands. We found clean water near Kelly Island and caught nice limits of walleye. Wes’s group caught fish by the west cans in stained and dirty water. The most productive lures later on were bare naked and hot mess reef runners with 80 foot of line out trolling between 1.3 and 1.8 mph. The last day we fished between Rattle Snake and Sugar Island. We caught most of our bigger fish on the last day which made our average just around 28 inches per fish. We also had another triple this year. We caught 19 walleye between 28 and 31 inches in our boat. Jeff caught the biggest walleye measuring 31 inches and weighing 10 pounds and 4 ounces.
